Medical Requirements, Medications, and Dietary Needs
All participants must meet the current Scouting America and Florida Sea Base medical requirements for the 2028 expedition. Because Sea Base is a high-adventure aquatic program, participants must complete the Sea Base-specific health and medical documentation, including the required physician examination, signatures, and any additional forms or documentation applicable to the selected adventure. Additional medical documentation may be required for scuba participants. The exact 2028 forms and requirements will be provided when available.
Families should:
Schedule the required physical examination well in advance, as spring appointments may be difficult to obtain.
Submit complete and accurate medical information, including medications, allergies, medical conditions, dietary restrictions, and other relevant health information.
Provide all required vaccination documentation. Based on current information, Tdap is currently identified for Scouts and tetanus vaccination for adults; requirements may change before 2028.
Provide medications in original prescription/pharmacy-labeled containers with complete instructions and the participant's name. Required medication authorization forms and insurance information should also be provided.
Discuss procedures with troop leadership for participants who carry emergency medications, such as inhalers or epinephrine auto-injectors.
Notify the troop as early as possible of food allergies, dietary restrictions, or other medical dietary needs and complete any required Camp Food Accommodation Request.
Do not wait until the last minute to complete medical requirements. Incomplete medical documentation, missing vaccinations, or unaddressed medication or dietary needs may prevent a participant from attending the expedition. All requirements are subject to the policies in effect for the 2028 Sea Base trip.
