Troop 166 & 6166 Eagle Scouts - Please help us gather info for our Eagle Scout highlight page
POPCORN & NUT SALE
The Popcorn and Nut sale enables your unit to do the things you want without running many fund raisers. By selling popcorn in the fall, you can support an entire year of Scouting for your unit. This is an officially approved council supported unit money-earning project that many packs, troops and crews participate in each year.
By participating in the product sale, you generate the following benefits:
Your unit earns a reliable revenue stream for your annual program, helping make Scouting more affordable and accessible for all families
Our vendors share a portion of the sale proceeds with the Council helping to subsidize operating costs such as camp improvements and lower fees for camp attendance, camperships for Scouts in need, training, services and support for your leaders and volunteers
Scouts learn life lessons such as goal setting, sales techniques, plus communication, organization and time management skills
70% of the sale returns to Scouting, making it one of the most profitable fundraising options
Thank you for your leadership and commitment to this important sale!
Information from our Unit Kernal regarding our Fall 2024 sale
NOTE: The 2024 Sale has wrapped up.
Thank you to all the Scouts who participated!!!!!
Good Afternoon Scouts & Families!
My name is Theresa Pierson (William’s mom) and I am your Unit Kernel this year!
Attached you will find the product offerings for this year. We will have our Popcorn & Nuts kickoff meeting as part of our first Troop meeting on Monday, September 9th but here is some information so you can begin selling as soon as possible:
Order Forms: Tony Vogl has the paper order forms. If you are interested in beginning your selling early, please contact him for pick up. If you are not able to connect with Tony, the order forms will be distributed at our first Troop meeting on 9/9.
Online Ordering: online ordering is available for Camp Masters popcorn only. Any online sales should NOT be included on your paper order forms. See attachment for details.
Payment: payment should be taken at time of order (not at delivery). It is completely up to each family if you want to offer your customers an electronic payment option that goes directly to you (Venmo/PayPal/etc.) or if you only want to accept cash and/or check. Each family should submit cash and/or one check for the total amount of gross sales.
Deadline: orders & payment are due back to me NO LATER THAN Monday, October 14th. Since we do not have a meeting on 10/14 (Columbus Day) you can choose to bring them to our meeting on 10/7 or you can reach out to me so we can connect – contact info below.
Setting a Goal: 25 - 35% of sales goes directly toward individual scout accounts to be applied to yearly dues, camping trips, troop outings, etc. Each scout earns based on their own sales so set a goal and strive for that level!
Prizes: there are prizes for in-person sales, online sales, high achiever prizes & top seller prizes as well as advancement & merit badge opportunities! See attachments for details.
Delivery: products will be delivered to scouts 11/10 - 11/19. Scouts should distribute to their customers as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. Looking forward to seeing you all on 9/9!
Thanks,
Theresa Pierson
